Susie Duhon Richard, age 65, Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Donald Pelous officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday, January 3, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday, January 3, 2011 from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Richard passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 2:05 p.m. at her residence. Susie loved to go crabbing, enjoyed eating seafood, cooking and spending time with her family. Prior to the death of her husband, Jerry, Mrs. Richard was a devoted and loving care giver.
Mrs. Richard is survived by her sons, Craig Stevens and wife Leslie of New Iberia; and Jerry J. Richard and wife Karen of Cecilia; step-sons, John Richard and Ernest Richard both of New Iberia; Perry Richard and wife Diane of Harkers Island, NC; Russell Richard and wife Chrisitine of New Burn, NC; step-daughter, Geraldine Richard of Arnaudville; sisters, Mabel Duhon Romero, Grace Maturin, and Effie Romero, all of New Iberia; brothers, Newton Duhon of New Iberia; and Gerald Duhon of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Trent Stevens, Jace Stevens, Karli Stevens, Kindlyn Stevens, Peyton Richard and Reed Richard, step-grandchildren, Melissa Thibodeaux, Dustin Richard, Zephron Richard, step-great grandchildren, Madison Thibodeaux and Trey Derouen, and one great-grandchild, Noland Picard.
Mrs. Richard was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Richard, her parents, Eassy and Eronique Duhon, sons, Greg Stevens and Carroll Stevens, Jr., step-son, Lowell Richard, step-grandson, Mark Richard and brothers, Minos Duhon, Dalton Duhon, Clarence Duhon and Lawrene Duhon.
Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Stevens, Jerry J. Richard, Jack Romero, Trent Stevens, Paul Richard and Jace Stevens.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Duhon, Newton Duhon and Gerald Duhon.
