Van William McKnight

Memorial services will be held for Van William McKnight at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011, at Fletcher Funeral Home, 609 West Admiral Doyle Drive, New Iberia, with Rev. Shawn Watson officiating.

The funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m. until time of services.

A native of New Orleans and a recent resident of New Iberia, Mr. McKnight passed at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Naomi P. McKnight, of New Iberia; three daughters Naomi George (Bryant ) of Slidell, Geisel Day (Eric) and Patricia Whiticar of New Iberia; five  grandchildren Kelli, Bryant Jr., Christina, Eric II and Janae; one step-granddaughter Chelsea; one step-great-grandchild Mikivian; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Van McKnight and Evelina Wiliiam McKnight; and one sister Marion McKnight Ross.
