Donald J. Morvant

Funeral  services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at 11 a.m.  at Acadian Funeral Home in New Iberia for  Donald J. Morvant, 69, of New Iberia. Father Jude Thierry of St. Peter’s Catholic Church will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation  will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011, from 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m.

Donald was born on October 5, 1941, in New Iberia. He passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at 2:30 a.m. at Iberia Medical Center. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool and having fun with his friends.

Donald is survived by his wife, Gloria Domingue Morvant, of New Iberia; two daughters Arlene Rochon and husband, Kevin, of New Iberia and Angela Jackson of New Iberia; two grandchildren Brennan Jackson and Briona Jackson both of New Iberia.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysse Morvant and Winnie Segura Morvant, of Jefferson Island; two brothers, Clifford Furt Morvant and Daniel Joseph Morvant.

Donald’s family would like to thank the staff of Belle Teche Nursing Home for their kindness.

Pallbearers will be the friends and family members.
