Loreauville nipped at wire; Erath beats DHS in OT

OPELOUSAS — Loreauville fell behind after three quarters against North Vermilion in the opening round of the Back 2 School Bash at Westminster Christian on Thursday, rallied to take the lead with 10 seconds to go but lost on a layup with about a second on the clock, 82-81.

Loreauville led after one quarter and at halftime but the Patriots (11-3) led 68-61 after three quarters.

Raymond Bonnette led the Tigers (9-6) with 25 points.

Jermaine Antoine added 25 and John Reed 11.

Jeremy James led NVHS with 22 points, while Brandon Campbell had 21 and Ben James had 19.

Loreauville plays Jehovah-Jireh at 4 p.m. today in the tournament.

Westminster 60, Assembly Christian 38

OPELOUSAS — Chase Malbrue had 18 points as Westminster Christian Academy beat Assembly Christian Thursday in the opening round of the Westminster Christian Tournament.

Josiah Freeman added 9 points for the Crusaders (2-8), who held ACS scoreless in the first quarter and limited the Lions to 6 points in the second quarter while rolling out to a 30-6 halftime lead.

David Prentiss led ACS (1-15) with 9 points while Dakota Billiot and Johnny Cochrane each had 7 points.

Erath 58, Delcambre 53, OT

ERATH — Mikey Seymour poured in 37 points as Erath beat Delcambre in overtime Thursday.

Josh Pillette added 12 for the Bobcats (10-6), who trailed by 16 points entering the fourth quarter but outscored Delcambre 20-4 in the final period to tie the game and then won the game in the extra period.

Carl Taylor led Delcambre (7-10) with 21 points while Dylan Bourque and Clarence Farrier each had 9 points.
