Louise Derouen Legnon

 A Mass of Christian  Burial will be celebrated for Louise Derouen Legnon, 84,  at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Our Lady of  Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Jude Thierry will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

 A gathering of family and friends  will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Monday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the Rosary being recited at 5:30 p.m.   The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until services.

 A native of Bayou Sale and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Legnon passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Iberia Medical Center.

 Mrs. Legnon was retired but worked with both International Salt and Avery Island. She had a love for fishing, watching the soap operas, and animals, especially her cat Heidi. Most important to her was her family and friends. She leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

 Survivors include her son, Errol  P. Legnon and wife Tina, grandchildren, Brent Legnon and  wife Tonya, Jonica Ferritti and Melanie Legnon all of New Iberia; great grandchildren, Trinity Legnon and McKinley Dorsey; and sister-in-law and best friend, Lilly Mae  “MaeMae” Rao.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney A. Legnon; son, Herb A. Legnon; parents,  Anthony Derouen and Theodora LeBlanc Derouen;  sister, Natatie “Nat” Broussard; and brothers, Charles,  Wilfred and Herb Derouen.

 Pallbearers will be Brent Legnon,  Bill Snay, Van Myers, Keith Price, Cord Dorsey and Chase  Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be Errol P. Legnon, and  Tracey and Jason Lasseigne.
