Let the games begin! It appears that David Groner is painting himself as “the only independent candidate in the race” for state Senate.

Why should we believe that Mr. Groner is a genuine independent? One look at his political donations (as found on www.opensecrets.org ) shows that in the last 10 years or so, he has donated more than $23,000 to the DNC and various Democratic candidates, such as John Edwards, Charlie Melancon, John Kerry and Mary Landrieu. If he is a true independent, where are the donations to the RNC, to Republican candidates, or even to independent candidates?

An independent does not support only leftist, progressive Democratic candidates. Only a fellow liberal would do that, don’t you think? Groner has even attacked John Stossel in a previous issue of The Daily Iberian. Would a true independent oppose a conservative Libertarian, for being just that, a conservative?

My grandmother always told me, if you lay down with dogs, expect to get fleas. So, when you are considering who to vote for, consider that list of Democratic candidates that Mr. Groner supports, and consider the Obama socialist agenda that those candidates support.

 Why should we further the political career of someone who will not have our best interests in mind? Tell David Groner to keep his Democratic, liberal fleas to himself. We don’t want them infesting our parish or our state Senate.
