Freddie Dupre

Freddie J. Dupre, a native of Pointe-Aux Chenes and a resident of Marrero for the past 61 years, died peacefully at his home with his family at his side on Sunday, January 16, 2011, at the age of 87.

He was the devoted husband of Rose Mae Naquin Dupre for 66 years. The loving father of three sons Ronald Dupre Sr., Marvin Dupre and Brian Dupre. Father-in-law of Brenda Fabregas Dupre, Peggy Fabregas Dupre and Shelley Mitchell Dupre. He was the beloved grandfather of Ronald Dupre Jr., Brandi LeCompte (Brad), Christine Bass (Kevin) and Hailey Dupre. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren Kirsten and Jarryd LeCompte, and Paige and Hope Bass. Survived by his brother Emery Dupre; and a host of nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andre and Julia Neil Dupre; brothers Leroy, Alcee, Paul and Lennis Dupre; sisters Agnes Rodrigue, Cynthia and Emily Dupre, Dorina Jarvis and Delma Smith.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at 11 a.m. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until funeral time.
