Albert ‘Abe’ Hebert

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Albert “Abe” Hebert, 72, who passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, in New Iberia.

Msgr. Richard Greene of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church will officiate.

Born on October 24, 1938, in Jeanerette, Abe was the son of Willie and Marie Domingue Hebert. Abe was currently employed as a deputy with the Iberia Parish Sheriffs’s Office. The time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, brought great joy to his life and theirs.

Abe is survived by his wife, Hildred Harrington Hebert, of New Iberia; his sons Shane Hebert and wife, Stacey, of New Iberia, Carl Hebert of New Iberia, Marty Hebert and wife, Michele, of Jeanerette; his daughter Andre’ Hebert of New Iberia; his brother Tilden Hebert and wife, Rose, of Baltimore, Md.; his sisters Shirley Jumonville of Lafayette, Ophelia Cranche and husband, Paul, of Jeanerette; grandchildren Calli Hebert, Shana Hebert, Alyssa Hebert, Brittni Marceaux, Marti Rae Viator and husband, Cody, Micah Guillotte and husband, Joshua, Matt Hebert, Justin VanBrocklin; great-granddaughters Isabella and Ava Viator.

In addition to his parents, Abe was preceded in death by his son Abe J. Hebert.

A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd. in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at yet to be determined time.
