Places to see in Louisiana

I was born in Franklin, reared here, married and reared my own children here. In all my 84 years of life, I’ve never wanted to live anyplace else.

Recently, my wonderful doctor (Roland Degeyeter) ordered me to see a specialist for a painful ailment … and that I had to have someone with me and not be left alone until the specialist saw and treated the condition.

Luck was with me. My children found a group of people who worked shift work and I had good around the clock care.

During this period of bed confinement, I read a lot. One of the most interesting books brought for me to read was “This Is My Louisiana” by Amanda Shaw. The book is official Louisiana Tour Guide.

I was impressed by the number of wonderful places to see in our state! Anyone who likes to travel would be pleased with what Louisiana has to offer sightseers, including my fellow Louisiana residents all through this marvelous state.

When I was younger and enjoyed good health, I was able to travel for vacations every year. If I had read “This is my Louisiana” then, instead of now, at this late date, I surely would have gone to many places in Louisiana that now I will never see.

This letter hopefully will encourage people near, as well as far, to come see “This is My Louisiana.”
