Boutte named court’s CDA of the Year

Court No. 1401 Our Lady of Good Counsel of Loreauville recently celebrated its 65th anniversary.

In conjunction with Priest Appreciation, the court named Gladys Boutte as Catholic Daughters of America of the Year.

The only living charter member, Anna Mae Dugas, attended the celebration along with 103-year-0ld Anite Gondron, who was celebrating 65 years in the court.

Lois Crochet celebrated 54 years of membership while Pearly Judice received a pin and certificate of appreciation for 40 years as a member. Receiving 35 plus years pins and certificates were Beulah Dugas, Annette Dugas, Anastasia Louis, Elaine Louviere, Marie Lee Prioux and Janet Thibodeaux.

Receiving pins and certificates in recognition of 30-plus years of membership were Goldie Breaux, Karen Boudreaux, Rose Anne Decuir, Marion Fruge, June Granger and Sylvia Girouard.

The court honored the Rev. Buddy Breaux, pastor of St. Joseph’s, the Rev. Paul Onuegbe, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory and Deacon Chris Doumit, for their dedication to the church parishes and the community of Loreauville.

The court was honored at the recent CDA State Convention with Certificates for second place in the Quality of Life and third place in Leadership in the Circle of Love Program.
