Boudreaux an’ his wife Clotile wuz sound asleep when da’ phone rang

at 2:30 in da’ mornin’. Since dey don’ got but one phone, and dat’s

in da’ livin’ room, Boud jump out of bed to go answer it.

When he come back to bed, Clotile ax him who dat wuz.

Boudreaux say, “Ah don’ know, it was some guy wantin’ to know if da’

coast wuz clear.”

Clotile say, “What did you tell him?”

Boud answer, “Ah told him dat we don’ live nowhere near da’ ocean.”
