Cacie Barras McGrew

Funeral services will be conducted for Cacie Barras McGrew, 29, at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Evangeline Funeral Home. The Rev. Scott Bullock will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Wednesday until service time.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Lafayette, Cacie passed away at 1:24 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

Cacie was born February 18, 1983 to the late Tommy Barras and Cindy Dugan Barras. She had a love of music and flowers (especially her hibiscus plants) and enjoyed reading, writing poetry and had a talent for taking beautiful photos. Many know Cacie as a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend who always had a smile and kind word for anyone she met. She loved spending time with her family, whether it was at a cookout, or just visiting. Her love of life and family were most important to her and she leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin McGrew, of Lafayette; one daughter Karley Rae McGrew of Lafayette; mother, Cindy Dugan Barras, of Youngsville; in-laws Ken and Leslie McGrew of Lafayette; uncles Duyane J. Albert and Troy Barras both of New Iberia; Paternal grandmother, Loraine Soileau Barras; paternal great-grandmother, Lessie Soileau, both of New Iberia; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Barras; maternal grandparents, Harry and Patricia Albert; paternal grandfather, Edwin J. Barras Jr.; her aunt and godmother Shannon Albert Caulking; and paternal great-grandparents, DM Soileau Sr. and Edwin J. and Nelia Landry Barras Sr.

Pallbearers will be Kevin McGrew, Duyane Albert, Shane Albert, Ted Caulking, Troy Barras, Mark Reed and Patrick Leger.
