Fried Okra Fingers

20 small young fresh okra pods
1 1/2 cups buttermilk

3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
Vegetable oil
Wash okra, trim stems. Drain well and place in shallow container. Pour buttermilk over okra and set aside to soak.

Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, Cajun seasoning, mixing well. Take each pod and carefully roll in cornmeal mixture. Drop in deep hot oil (375 degrees) for 3 to 5 minutes, turning once. Drain on paper towels. Yields 4 servings.
