Smothered Okra with Tomatoes, Sausage and Shrimp

2 pounds okra sliced

1 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup bell pepper

2 to 3 cloves garlic, chopped

1 can (16 ounces) diced tomatoes or 2 to 3 fresh tomatoes.

1 pound smoked sausage

1 pound peeled shrimp

2 tablespoons oil

1 teaspoon red pepper

1 tablespoon seasoned salt

If using diced tomatoes, drain. Place all ingredients in pot except sausage and shrimp. Cook for 45 minutes, stirring to avoid sticking.

Brown sausage in another pot. Add to okra and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Add shrimp and cook for another 15 minutes. Serve as a vegetable side dish or over rice as an entree.
