Fred A. Wesley recently received top honors by the National Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Wesley, the first black state commander for the VFW Department of Louisiana, was recognized as an All-American Department Commander.

Wesley was recognized for his competent leadership in all VFW endeavors, qualifying him as a member of the 2011-12 All-American Team of Department Commanders.
