LOREAUVILLE –   The public is invited to one of Loreauville’s biggest and tastiest events, the eighth annual Tailgating Cookoff on Oct. 20.

Proceeds from the event, which is held each year in Loreauville Park, go toward St. Joseph’s Catholic Church’s restoration project. Several cooking teams will battle is out in meat, seafood, wild game and poultry categories.  A Joker’s Wild Poker Run benefitting the Special Olympics of Iberia Parish will begin registration at 8 a.m. that day and will begin at 10 a.m.

Throughout the day there will live music from band Prop Studio, Corey Ledet and His Zydeco Band and Side Show.

There will also be a bingo game, arts and crafts and other activities.

Gates will open at 9 a.m. and close a 10 p.m. Admission is $5 for ages 12 and older and $20 for a family of four.  For more information call 577-3852.
