THE REGIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM OF ACADIANA STARS IN THEIR OWN PINK GLOVE DANCE VIDEO TO SUPPORT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS!

Video entered in national competition to determine best Pink Glove Dance Video

The Pink Glove Dance is spreading…to The Regional Health System of Acadiana. More than 250 staff members of The Regional Health System of Acadiana, which includes Women’s & Children’s Hospital, Elaine M. Junca Women’s Imaging Centre, The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana and Dauterive Hospital, got together with their friends at The Louisiana Ice Gators and Acadian Ambulance to star in their own Pink Glove Dance video to help spread the word about breast cancer awareness and to raise money for their designated charity, Miles Perret Cancer Services.

“We chose Miles Perret Cancer Services as our designated charity because of the great work they do for our patients.” said Mary Reed of Elaine M. Junca Women’s Imaging Centre. “We learned that Miles Perret had lost a $60,000 grant this year, so this contest, and our Real Men Wear Pink calendar, are ways we are trying to help bridge that gap.”

The video was submitted to a national competition sponsored by Medline Industries, Inc., manufacturer of the gloves and producer of the original Pink Glove Dance video. The song used in The Regional Health System of Acadiana’s video was ‘Part of Me” by Katy Perry, who gave permission to use this song specifically for the Pink Glove Dance competition.

As part of the Pink Glove Dance 2012 competition, The Regional Health System of Acadiana’s video is posted on www.pinkglovedance.com. Viewers can vote on their favorite video (voting requires a Facebook® account). The top three winners receive a donation in their name to the breast cancer charity of their choice. The winners will be announced Nov. 2 on pinkglovedance.com.

“Once we saw the original video and all the ones from last year’s competition, we immediately wanted to get involved to help make a difference at our facility and in our community,” said Leona Boullion, COO of Women’s & Children’s Hospital. “Our employees were so excited and inspired to be part of our own Pink Glove Dance and at the chance to make a difference in the lives of breast cancer patients here in Acadiana. But we can’t do it alone. We need Acadiana to vote for our video and to help spread the word to others, in any way they can, so we can help change the lives of women right here at home.”
