FRANKLIN — Four boys’ teams and five girls’ teams will join host Hanson Memorial in the annual Hanson Holiday Classic basketball tournament that starts Wednesday at the school gym.

Franklin and West St. Mary each will send boys’ and girls’ teams to the tournament, while Delcambre and Kaplan fill out the boys’ bracket and Patterson, E.D. White and Teurlings Catholic fill out the girls’ bracket.

Tournament action begins Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. with Franklin playing Delcambre in a boys’ game. At 6 p.m., Kaplan and West St. Mary play in the boys’ bracket, while Hanson plays Patterson at 7:30 p.m. in the girls’ bracket.

Thursday action starts at 4:30 p.m. with a girls’ game between West St. Mary and Franklin. At 6 p.m., E.D. White and Teurlings play in a girls’ game, and at 7:30 p.m., Franklin and West St. Mary play in boys’ action.

On Friday, the E.D. White-Teurlings and West St. Mary-Franklin girls’ winners square off at 4:30 p.m. in the semifinals, and Hanson plays Delcambre in a boys’ game at 6 p.m.

Saturday’s games start at 9:30 a.m. With the E.D. White-Teurlings and West St. Mary-Franklin girls’ losers in the consolation semifinals, followed by Delcambre and Kaplan in a boys’ game at 11 a.m.

The girls’ consolation finals are at 12:30 p.m., followed by Kaplan and Franklin boys at 2 p.m.

The girls’ championship game is at 3:30 p.m., with West St. Mary playing Hanson at 5 p.m. in the final boys’ game.
