Garbanzo Beans and Andouille Sausage

1 pound garbanzo beans
1 pound andouille sausage
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 cup vegetable blend (onion, celery, bell pepper, parsley)
Soak beans in water overnight. Drain water and place in crock pot. Add enough fresh water to cover beans, sprinkle turmeric and season to taste. Add vegetable seasoning blend of choice. Turn crockpot on high. Brown sausage and add to beans. Ham hocks can be used if preferred. Let cook six to eight hours.
Note: Turmeric can be added to any type of beans while cooking. The seasoning eliminates the indigestible carbohydrates which can cause gas and bloating problems.
