Andalusia celebrates

Members of the Krewe of Andalusia gathered in New Iberia in celebration of its 57th annual Mardi Gras bal masque Saturday at the Sugar Cane Festival Building.

The Krewe of Andalusia and its guests celebrated to the theme of “The Magic of The Emerald Isle.”

King Phillip I of Ireland and Queen Mary I of Ireland ruled over all things Irish. His Royal Majesty Terrel Dressel served as King Phillip I of Ireland and King of the Ball of Andalusia and Dr. Janice Nugent was his consort, Her Royal Majesty Queen Mary I of Ireland and Queen of the Ball of Andalusia.

Representing the youth of New Iberia were the Troubadours, who formed an honor guard to escort the royal couple. Serving as Troubadours were Colin Faulk, son of Dexter and Denise Faulk, and Ethan Jones, son of Stephen and Yvette Jones. Both Troubadours are grandsons of His Royal Majesty, Terrel Dressel.

Taking part as the King’s Pages were Luke Anthony Soileau, son of Neil and Brooke Soileau; Coleman Matthew Inzerella, son of Jed and Anna Claire Inzerella; Thomas Timothy Haik, son of Eric and Erin Haik; Marshall Joseph Moore, son of Timothy and Angela Moore; Thomas Layne Beaullieu, son of Gerald IV and Kaci Beaullieu; and Hayden Jerome Nugent and Garrett John Nugent, sons of Dr. Heath and Jennifer Nugent. Hayden and Garret Nugent are grandsons of Her Royal Majesty Dr. Janice Nugent.

Serving as Trainbearers to the Queen were Alexis Christine Lamm, daughter of David and Holly Lamm; Camryn Sage Haik, daughter of Christopher and Michelle Haik; Amalie J. Bender, daughter of Luke and Bernadette Bender; Anne Catherine Dupuy, daughter of Dr. Christopher and Susan Dupuy; Viley Kate Borne, daughter of Joseph and Callie Borne; Olivia Marie Cestia, daughter of Stuart and Angie Cestia; and Mathile Anne D’Albor and Emmeline Belle D’Albor, daughters of J.P. and Jennifer D’Albor.

Serving as Royal Court Princess to their Royal Majesties were Lady Elizabeth of County Clare, represented by Kathryn Dressel, daughter of Terry and Shari Dressel and granddaughter of His Royal Majesty Terrel Dressel.

The Royal Dukes of Andalusia representing the regions of Ireland were Brent Indest as the Duke of Waterford, J.P. D’Albor as the Duke of Kilkenny, Dr. Brad Roth as the Duke of Fermanagh, Allen Patout III as the Duke of Meath, Tyler Barras as the Duke of Carlow and Derek Hebert as the Duke of Antrim.

The Royal Duchesses of the Emerald Isle and Maids to Her Gracious Majesty the Queen, Queen Mary I, were Jodie Suire as Lady Cathleen, Duchess of Iris Crystal; Andree Schlicher as Lady Clare, Duchess of Irish Music; Martha Gilfoil as Lady Meara, Duchess of Irish Spirits; Holly Lamm as Lady Shauna, Duchess of The Mystical Shamrock; Lauren Lamperez as Lady Keary, Duchess of The Tartan Plaid and Kara Louviere as Lady Fiona, Duchess of The Irish Pot of Gold.

Ladies-In-Waiting to her Majesty the Queen were Alyssa Claire Broussard, daughter of Joey and Danita Broussard; Kalynn Claire Dressel, daughter of Terry and Shari Dressel and Katelyn Celeste Regard, daughter of William and Jennifer Regard. Kalynn Dressel is a granddaughter of His Royal Majesty Terrel Dressel.
