John F. Ferry (Doctor Jack) has dedicated his first book titled, “Irving the Brave Traffic Light” to fellow New Iberians.

The book, written and illustrated by Ferry, tells a tale of a traffic light on Main Street

Ferry said he was inspired to write the book after taking a writing course through the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Ferry, a native of New York, said he dedicated the book to New Iberians because he was welcomed into the city with warmth, friendliness and kindness after moving to Louisiana in 1956.
