Pennison reigns as Black Bear Queen

Nikki Pennison was crowned the 2013-2014 Bayou Teche Black Bear Miss Queen Saturday during the annual festivities.

She is the 18-year-old daughter of Rene and Tammy Pennison of Morgan City.

Pennison is a 2012 graduate of Morgan City High School and is now attending Nicholls State University. She enjoys participanting in Relay for Life, helping with Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, Donating Blood, and running in as many benefit’s as she can.

Pennison said she is excited about chosen as the new Bayou Teche Black Bear Queen and is ready to travel to spread the word of the historic city of Franklin and St. Mary Parish.
