Funeral services will be conducted for Kay Raymer Romero, 70, Friday, May 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the David Funeral Home Chapel, with James Latiolais officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday, May 10, 2013, at 8 a.m. until service time.
A native of Texarkana, Ark., and a lifetime resident of Coteau, Kay died at her residence Monday, May 6, 2013, at 9:40 a.m. surrounded by her family. She had a career in retail sales and loved collecting antiques and growing flowers in her home garden, but most of all Kay loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and traveling to visit her relatives in Texas.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Kay Romero of Broussard; her son Randell Lee “Randy” Romero of Chatsworth, Ga.; her brother Michael Raymer and wife, Elaine, of LiverPool, Texas; her former husband, J. Farris Romero, of New Iberia; grandsons Destin Lee and Austin Lee Romero of Dalton, Ga.; granddaughters Chasity Lee Romero Adams and Brelen Renee Romero of Coteau; three great-granddaughters; and former daughter-in-law Veronica Viator of Dalton, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Caroll E. Raymer and Margie Sifford Raymer; and her son Brian C. Romero.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randall “Randy” Romero, Austin Romero, Destin Romero, Cory Raymer Jr. and Steven Gondran.
