Turner, Giroir lead the ACS Class of 2013

Twenty-two seniors will graduate from Assembly Christian School at 7 p.m. Friday.

The school touts two outstanding graduates as its valedictorian and salutatorian this year.

Valedictorian Aimee Kathryn Turner, daughter of Ken and Karen Turner of New Iberia, will attend Louisiana State University this fall where she plans to major in International Studies.

During her high school career she was a member of Beta Club and Spirit Committee. She also was a member of the school’s Varsity Softball and Volleyball teams. Turner will graduate with a 4.15 GPA.

Her awards include a $4,000 LSU Tiger Excellence Resident Award, Golden Glove Award, 1st Team All-District Softball, Christian Character Award, Homecoming Court and Spring Court, Straight A Honor Roll Award, Honor Graduate, second place District Rally in Chemistry, second Place District Rally in Calculus and National Society of High School Scholars.

Salutatorian Brianna Patricia Giroir, daughter of Duane and Sabrina Giroir of New Iberia, will attend University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the fall, where she plans to major in Secondary Education/Social Studies.

While attending ACS, Giroir was a four-year member of the Beta Club, two-year president of the Beta Club, three-year member of the Spirit Committee, one-year secretary of Spirit Committee, three-year member of Homecoming Court and a member of the Youth Group at Faith Cathedral. Giroir will graduate with a 4.11 GPA.

Her awards include a $4,000 ULL Academic Excellence Scholarship, Honor Roll Award, Honor Graduate, fourth place District Rally in Physical Science and third place District Rally in Biology.
