Westgate High School will celebrate the Class of 2013 with 222 students earning diplomas during a 6 p.m. ceremony Wednesday.

Two students each with a 4.0 GPA will represent the class as the valedictorian and salutatorian.

Valedictorian Rebekah Rae David, daughter of Richard and Darla David of New Iberia, will attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the fall where she plans to major in behavioral health.

Awards David has earned include a Math Award for one year, DAR Award for one year, Honor Graduate, National Honor Society, Academic Scholar, 2012 Louisiana Girls’ State Representative Award, Perfect Attendance for 13 years and Principal’s List for 12 years.

David was active in Diversity Club, Year book, Renaissance Club, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Students Against Drunk Driving, Spirit Committee and Key Club while in high school.

Salutatorian Ashley Michelle Boudreaux, daughter of Sharon and Heath Boudreaux of Youngsville, also will attend ULL in the fall where she plans to major in kinesiology.

Boudreaux’s awards include Honor Graduate, National Honor Society, Academic Scholar, Principal’s List, First Team All-District Baseball, Best of the Teche Baseball, Best of the Teche Honorable Mention Softball and Homecoming Court second maid.

She was active in National Honor Society and Beta Club, and she was a member of the girls’ softball team and girls’ volleyball team.
