Conery elected vice president

Third Circuit Court of Appeal Judge John E. Conery was recently elected vice president of the American Judge’s Association at the organizations’s recent annual meeting.
Conery served as District Judge for the 16th Judicial District Court Parishes of St. Mary, Iberia and St. Martin for 18 years. He served as president of the Louisiana District Judge’s Association before his election to the Court of Appeal in 2012.
The American Judges Association represents more than 2,200 judges from all levels of jurisdiction in the United States and Canada. It was established in 1959 with the goals of promoting and improving the effective administration of justice, maintaining the status and independence of the judiciary and providing a forum for the continuing education of its members.
