The Iberia Parish Farm Bureau Federation awards five scholarships each semester to qualifying applicants who have completed their freshman year of college.

The 2013 scholarships were awarded to Kevin Perrodin, a senior attending the University of Louisiana at Monroe and graduate of Westgate High School; Victoria Verret, a senior attending Louisiana State University and graduate of Hanson School; Miles Minvielle, a sophomore attending LSU and graduate of St. Thomas More; Evan Hebert a sophomore attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and graduate of Catholic High and Alexa Landry, a junior attending McNeese State University and graduate of Loreauville High School.

Each student received a $1,200 scholarship per year.

The scholarships have been awarded to the best and brightest students of Iberia Parish for more than 20 years and are used to help defray the ever increasing cost of their college education.

To be eligible, applicants or their parents had to be a member of Iberia Parish Farm Bureau, maintain a 2.8 grade point average and a resident of Iberia Parish.

To fund the program, Farm Bureau sponsors the “After Harvest Ball” which will be held at Club La Louisiane on Feb. 8. Tickets are available at the Farm Bureau office, 1320 E. Admiral Doyle or for any board member.
