The first and second place winners of the Highland Baptist Christian School spelling bee will progress to the district competition in January.

The winners listed below will go on to compete:

Third grade went 13 rounds and was won by Isabella Stamato, who took first place honors with the word “broach.” Adrianna Pisani took second place.

Fourth grade went seven rounds and was won by George Bourdier, who took first place honors with the word “absolute.” Drake Turner took second place

Fifth grade went eight rounds and was won by Caroline Broussard, who took first place honors with the word “scheme.” Colbe Thomas won second place.
