Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Verlie Ann Touchet Hebert, 57, who died on Saturday, December 14, 2013, in New Iberia.
Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Ms. Hebert was born on November 18, 1956, and was a lifelong resident of New Iberia. She was always willing to help those in need by listening and praying with them. Her hobbies included shopping, cooking and laughing. Verlie deeply loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved teaching the word of God and was a loving, devoted and fun mother and grandmother, who had a heart of gold. Verlie was a hero to her children and grandchildren. She will be missed dearly, but never forgotten.
Survivors include her daughters Nichol Wiltz and husband, Blane, of New Iberia, Pamela Marie Menard and husband, Kevin, of New Iberia, Jamie Stevens and husband, Zachery Stevens Jr. of Lafayette, Jenny Hebert of New Iberia; brothers Wayne Gary and wife, Tracy, of New Iberia, James Touchet and wife, Melanie, of New Iberia, Randal Gary of New Iberia; sisters Margaret Grow and husband, Kelly P. Grow, of Lafayette and Yvonne Gary LeBlanc of Delcambre; nine grandchildren Kristen Landry, Paige Wiltz, Eleni Derouen, Madison Menard, Kevin K. Menard, Myah Menard, Briley Stevens, Zachery Stevens III and Jaylin Long; four great-grandchildren Kollins Broussard, Brooklyn Hebert, Alayah Derouen and Elijah Drew Hebert.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elvina Desormeaux Gary; sisters Verna Hebert, Shirley Touchet and Michelle Gary; brothers Roy Gary Jr. and Randy Gary; and a niece Michelle Roseberry.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Gary, Troy Grow, Zachery Stevens Jr., Kelly Paul Grow, Kevin J. Menard, Blane Wiltz and Chad Hebert.
