BROUSSARD — Services will be conducted for Mr. Edmond P. Cormier III, 77, at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Arockiam, S.V.D., officiating.
Visitation will begin at 7:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
A Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. at the church.
He is a native of Cade and had been a resident of New Iberia for 35 years.
He retired from Avery Island Salt mine, where he worked as a mechanic for 32 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvania Cormier; four daughters Melinda Vincent of New Orleans, Kathlena Alexander and Sylvia Espejo of St. Martinville and Trudy Demouchet of New Iberia; two brothers Wilray (Josephine) Cormier of St. Martinville and Donald Cormier of Georgia; six sisters Willie Mae Moon, Juanita Hall, Barbara Allen, Dosha Lee, Linda Smith and Catherine Livings; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond P Cormier Jr. and Elvina Mouton; one brother Casley Cormier; and one granddaughter Gia.
Active pallbearers are Sheldon C. Vincent Jr., Antonio Espejo, Joseph Demouchet, Marcus Cormier, Wilray Cormier Jr. and Tyronne Smith Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Wilray Cormier, Donald Cormier Charles Alexander II, Charles Alexander III, Harvey Moon, Henry Lee Jr., Larry Ledet and Freddie Allen.
The Golden Meadows Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
