Peg’s Cornbread

1 cup cornmeal

1 cup flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

1 egg

1/4 cup oil

1 tablespoon sugar

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan. In medium bowl, mix all dry ingredients and add milk. Pour into pan. Bake about 20 minutes. Makes an 8-inch square cornbread.
