Wells — Smith

Shannon Wells and Christopher Smith were married Saturday, March 1, 2014, at First Jerusalem Baptist Church. The bride is the daughter of Shirley Wells and Allen Wells Sr. of New Iberia. The groom is the son of Sheila August and Christopher Alexander of Jeanerette.

The Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander officiated at the 3 p.m. double-ring ceremony.

The bride wore a diamond white romance satin gown with a pleated sweetheart bodice with beaded appliqués down one side and back of the skirt of the gown.

The gown featured a lace-up back and a modified cathedral train.

She carried a bouquet of ivory-colored open roses.

Serving as maid of honor was Jamie Walker, and matron of honor was Marice Walker. Bridesmaids were Jazmine Walker, Kiera Wells, Kriston Alexander, Brianna Polk, Jamala Williams, Bonnie Sherman, Tametria Nickleson, Jada Walker, Damesha Bouie and JaKiera Berry.

Junior bridesmaids were Christiana Alexander, Troylynn Wells and Naomi Chentlen.

They each carried a nosegay bouquet of open roses.

Serving as flower girl was Sha’Kiylyn Berry. Ring bearer was Destin St. Julien.

Serving as best men were Cornell Declouet and Robert Hurst. Groomsmen were Allen Wells, Troy Wells, Jermaine Wells, Jeremiah Williams, Randolph Armelin, Traville Frederick, Anthony Johnson, Denzel Alexander, Kaleb Alexander and Stanford Ceaser.

Junior groomsmen were Alex Mathews, Ja’Bryson Wells and Christin Alexander.

Mini bride was AAliyah Wells and junior bride was Jas’Tess Wells.

Mini groom was Shanga Charles Jr. and junior groom was Asa Chentlen.

Also in the wedding party was Aknylah Olivier.

Ushers were Melvin Chentlen and LaMont Walker.

A reception for family and friends was held at the West St. Mary Civic Center in Jeanerette.

Following a wedding trip to New Orleans, the couple will reside in New Iberia.
