Brianna Nico of Jeanerette was selected to compete in the 2014 Miss Teen Lafayette/Baton Rouge competition that will take place March 23.

She learned of her acceptance into this year’s competition when the pageant announced its selections following interviewing in the local Lafayette/Baton Rouge area.

Nico, a student at Jeanerette Senior High School, will be competing for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and speciality gifts that will be distributed to contestants. She will compete in the Miss Teen Division, one of four divisions that will have young ladies ages 7 to 19 competing in modeling routines, which include casual wear and formal wear.

She will display her personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year’s judging panel.

Personalty is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.

The winner of the competition will represent Lafayette/Baton Rouge and the surrounding communities at the national competition to take place in Orlando, Fla.

She is the daughter of Rose and Clifford Nico.
