FRANKLIN — Donald Ray Thomas Sr., 53, a native of Shady Side and a resident of Franklin, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at 12:15 a.m. at his residence.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Nazarene Cemetery in Verdunville.

Donald leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mary “Kathy” Sanders Thomas, of Houston; two sons Donald Ray Thomas Jr. and James Thomas, both of Houston; two daughters Ka’Dondra Rae Thomas and Makayla Denise Thomas, both of Houston; and a stepdaughter Crystal K. Sanders of Dallas; seven brothers James Roy Thomas of Chennyville, Glenn Thomas (Trance) of Houston, Danny Thomas (Barbara), Mark Thomas (Annette), Sid Fitzgerald Thomas (Carolyn) and Clifton Thomas (Tawanna), all of Franklin, and Clay Thomas (Trina) of Baldwin; four sisters Tiny Marie Thomas Vallian (Alton) of New Iberia, Betty Lee Thomas Joseph of Franklin, Angelica Colbert (Craig) and Yolanda Charles, both of Four Corners; his in-laws James Sanders and Ethel Sanders, both of Houston; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Roy Thomas and Annie Mae Osborne Thomas; paternal grandparents, Isiah Thomas and Rebecca (Nicey) Thomas; maternal grandparents, Orelia Narcisse and Anthony Osborne Sr.
