JEANERETTE — Ms. Mable F. Collins, 96, a native of Franklin and a resident of Jeanerette, died on Monday, April 29, 2014, at Franklin Foundation Hospital in Franklin. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2014, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Jeanerette. Visitation will begin at 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Journet & Bolden Funeral Home in New Iberia and will resume at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services. Interment will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Jeanerette. Dismas Mauk SVD will officiate the services.
Ms. Collins is survived by three sons Davis Collins of New Iberia, Oston Collins (Doris) of Lake Charles and Clarence Collins of Jeanerette; four daughters Mary Coleman (Ernest) of Jeanerette, Shirley Leon of New Iberia, Delores Ricardo of New Iberia and Florence Barideaux (Clarence) of Jeanerette; one brother Junius Fuselier of Baldwin; two sisters Elnora Ben of Houston and Lubertha Hose of Lake Charles; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ms. Collins was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Bob Fuselier; husband, Robert Collins; three sons Lugene, Joseph and Paul Collins; one daughter Marcelene Henderson; four brothers Lawrence, Jessie, Clarence and Murphy Fuselier; two sisters Beatrice Chambers and Marie Fuselier; and one son-in-law Joseph Leon.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Coleman, Jason Coleman, Herman Fuselier, Glen Weber, Clarence Barideaux and Travis Collins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Oston Collins, Clarence Collins, Davis Collins, Clifton Ben, Daryl Fuselier, Tony Collins, Lawrence Fuselier Jr., Junius Fuselier and Douglas Fuselier.
