Orientation schedule for Iberia Parish public schools

• Alternative Center for Education:

Tuesday Aug. 5, 9:30 a.m. all grades. $20 registration fee. Orientation will take place in the cafeteria.

• Anderson Middle School:

Thursday, Aug. 7 students and parents must report to the gymnasium for orientation.

Eighth grade 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

• Belle Place Middle School:

Thursday, Aug. 7 students and parents must report to the cafeteria for a general assembly followed by individual teacher meetings. Total fees will be $40.

Seventh grade anytime between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. to pick up schedules and pay fees.

Eighth grade anytime between 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. to pick up schedules and pay fees.

• Caneview Elementary:

Tuesday, Aug. 5 orientation for first through third grade 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 fourth through sixth grade 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday Aug. 7 pre-k and kindergarten 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Students may bring all school supplies labeled with the child’s name on them. A $10 fee will be collected for ID cards, handbook/planners and graded paper folder. Lunch money will be accepted.

• Center Street Elementary:

Thursday, Aug. 7 school uniforms are required for orientation. Registration for student care will be held on orientation day in the cafeteria. Prepayment for breakfast and or lunch will be taken by the cafeteria manager on orientation day.

Pre-k and kindergarten 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. students to report to the cafeteria. After a brief welcome from the principal, students will report to their classrooms. Rosters will be posted outside each teacher’s classroom.

First, second and third grades 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Report directly to classrooms.

Fourth, fifth and sixth 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Report directly to classrooms.

• Coteau Elementary:

Aug. 7 registration for student care will be held in the library. Prepayment for breakfast and or lunch will be take by the cafeteria manager on that day. School uniforms are required for orientation.

Pre-k through sixth grades 9 a.m. will report directly to the cafeteria. After orientation with the principal, students will be allowed to visit their classrooms.

Anyone unable to attend the morning orientation may come at 5:30 p.m.

• Daspit Elementary:

Students are required to wear uniforms to attend orientation. Tables will be set up in the lobby to pay for breakfast/lunch and student care fees during all orientations.

Aug. 6 grades first through sixth 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Report to class.

Aug. 7 for parents unable to attend Wednesday evening orientation. Pre-k 8 to 8:30 a.m., kindergarten 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Grades first through sixth with names beginning with A through L, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Last names beginning with M through Z 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

nDelcambre 

Elementary:

Due to limited space, Delcambre officials ask only parents attend the orientation meetings. Registration for student care will be available before and after each orientation.

Aug. 5, first and third grade. First grade orientation will be held at 3:15 p.m. and third grade at 4 p.m.

Aug. 6, second and fourth grade. Second grade orientation will be held at 3:15 p.m. and fourth grade will be held at 4 p.m.

Aug. 7, fifth grade orientation will be held at 3:15 p.m.

Aug. 8, kindergarten orientation will be held at 9 a.m. and pre-k orientation will be at 2 p.m.

• Delcambre High:

Students will have orientation on Aug. 5. School dress code and proper grooming is required. Payment of locker fees is optional for high school students and payment of P.E. locker fees is mandatory.

Sixth grade 6 p.m.

Seventh and eighth grade 8:30 a.m.

Ninth through 12th grade 1 p.m.

• Dodson Elementary:

Thursday, Aug. 7 from 11 to 1 p.m. Students are to report to classrooms to deliver supplies and pick up packets. Second through sixth grade students are expected to purchase their mandatory planners during orientation. Lunch will be served in the cafeteria for parents and students. Car rider tags can be registered at this time.

• Iberia Middle School:

Orientation for students Aug. 7 in the gym. There will be a short mandatory presentation for parents and IMS students at the beginning of each orientation period. Only parents and current IMS students are allowed to attend orientation for building capacity reasons. Students must pay student planner, ID card and lanyard and P.E. fees during orientation.

Seventh grade orientation at 8 to 9:30 p.m.

Eighth grade orientation at 10 to 11:30 p.m.

• Jeanerette Elementary:

Student orientation will be Aug. 7, 9 to 11 a.m. Students who attend orientation are required to wear school uniforms. Each student will have to pay school fees the day of orientation. No checks are accepted. Cash and money orders only.

• Jefferson Island Road Elementary:

Orientation Aug. 7, all parents and students will report directly to the school cafeteria for general announcements and school wide policies and procedures. School uniforms are required for orientation. School spirit shirts will be sold in the Cozy Corner Cafe. Registration for student care will be held in room C-9.

Pre-k and Kindergarten orientation 8 to 8:30 a.m.

First grade orientation 8:45 to 9:15 a.m.

Second grade 9:30 to 10 a.m.

Third grade 10:15 to 10:45 a.m.

Fourth grade 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Fifth grade 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Sixth grade 2 to 2:30 p.m.

• Johnston-Hopkins Elementary:

Orientation for students and parents will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the cafeteria. Students attending orientation must wear a school uniform and parents must fill out emergency cards and lunch forms at orientation. All outstanding fees must be paid prior to orientation.

• Loreauville Elementary:

Orientation for Loreauville Elementary will be held on Aug. 7. Parents and students are asked to report to the homeroom classroom for orientation. Names will be posted on the doors next to the classrooms. School uniforms are required to attend orientation.

Pre-k through first grade orientation from 8 to 9 a.m.

Second to fourth grade orientation from 10 to 11 a.m.

Fifth to sixth grade orientation from noon to 1 p.m.

• Magnolia Elementary:

Orientation will be held Aug. 7. Registration for student care and prepayment for breakfast and lunch will be done on orientation day. School uniforms are required for orientation.

Pre-k through second grade orientation from 8 to 9 a.m.

Third and fourth grade orientation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Fifth and sixth grade orientation from 11 a.m. to noon.

• New Iberia Senior High:

Orientation for New Iberia Senior High freshman will be held on Aug. 5, at 1 p.m. in the boys’ gym. The orientation will be open to students and parents only. Visitors are not permitted. Fees will be collected during orientation. No checks are accepted only cash or money orders.

Sophomore, junior, senior, repeat freshman and GED students orientation will be held on the first day of school. Fees will also be collected during this time.

• North Lewis Elementary:

Orientation for all grades will be held on Aug. 7. School uniforms are required for orientation. Parents should only park on the North Lewis campus and not in the parking lots of area businesses. Student rosters will be posted outside of each classroom. A $5 fee will be collected for ID cards.

Pre-k and kindergarten orientation begins at 9 a.m. and will be for parents only.

First and fourth grade orientation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Second and fifth grade orientation will be from noon to 1 p.m.

Third and sixth grade orientation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

• North Street Elementary:

Orientation for North Street Elementary will be Aug. 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. and Aug. 7, from 10 to 11 a.m.

Parents and students will be allowed to drop off school supplies and teachers will collect orientation fees. School uniforms are required.

Tables will be set up in the main hall near the office for student care, registration, 4-H enrollment and North Street merchandise.

• Park Elementary:

Orientation for Park Elementary will be held on Aug. 7 for grades pre-k through sixth from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Students will meet in the cafeteria for orientation at 9 a.m. Students must be in full uniform. Students attending Park Elementary for the first time for the 2014-2015 school year should register at the school’s office after orientation.

• Pesson Elementary:

Orientation will be held Aug. 7 for grades pre-k through sixth. Parents should report to the cafeteria for a brief orientation with the principal. Students must be in full uniform. Students attending Pesson Elementary for the first time for the 2014-2015 school year should register in the school’s office prior to orientation.

First grade through third grade orientation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Fourth through sixth grade orientation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Pre-k and kindergarten will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

• St. Charles Elementary:

Orientation will be held for St. Charles Elementary Aug. 7 beginning with a brief introduction in the cafeteria. After introduction, parents should report to classrooms for a meeting with teachers. Rosters will be posted outside the classroom doors. Registration for the Student Care Program may be completed during the orientation.

Pre-k orientation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

First and second grade orientation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Third through sixth grade orientation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

• Sugarland Elementary:

Orientation will be held at 9 to 10:30 a.m. for Sugarland Elementary. Uniforms are required in order to participate in the orientation. Parents and Students should report to the teachers’ classrooms. Rosters will be posted outside the classroom doors. Registration for the Student Care Program may be completed during orientation.

• Westgate High:

First-time freshman only should report to the auditorium/cafeteria for orientation at 8 a.m. The orientation will be open to students and parents only.

Grades 10 through 12th will have orientation on Aug. 5 in the auditorium/ cafeteria. Parking permits may be purchased form 1 to 2 p.m.

Students with the last names A through F will report at 8 a.m.

Students with last names G through M will report at 8:45 a.m.

Students with the last name N through Z will report at 9:30 a.m.
