This pumpkin patch is the real deal with huge spreads of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. The patch is open for guests on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-noon and 3-7 p.m., Wednesday 3-7 p.m., Saturday 9-7 p.m. and Sunday 1-7 p.m. Special events include hayrides, food, face painting, arts and crafts and food truck corrals. The doors open at 7 p.m. and don’t close until 11 p.m. or whenever the last person leaves! The Museum of Fear occupies the third floor of the Lafayette Science Museum. There will be a combination of seasoned actors, elaborate set design and a spooky soundtrack. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or online at museumoffear.org/purchase-tickets.php.

This one is deemed the “not so spooky” Halloween celebration, so it’s perfect for the whole family. It takes place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Activities include fun and informative displays like Witches Brew, Mr. Bones and Friends, Feed My Monster, Mummy Pets, Mummy’s Ride, The Slime Pit, Haunted House Book Nook and Pictures. There will also be a costume contest with several different categories. Admission is $9 and $8 if you come dressed in costume.

Boo at the Zoo is packed with family fun! Stop by on Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. or Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m. There are costume contests from 12 noon-2 p.m. each day, games, candy stations, face painting, tattoos, live entertainment, sand art and an opportunity to check out the zoo’s many animals. This family-friendly event celebrates the folklore of the South Louisiana Rougarou. Funds raised go to support South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center. Franklin’s Annual Harvest Moon Festival – The Franklin Merchants Association presents the 15th Annual Harvest Moon Festival. Festivities take place from 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. on Main Street, Franklin. The free festival celebrates the sugar cane harvest and the return of fall. Events include arts and crafts, live entertainment, Chez Hope Kids Playland, a 5K run/walk, a classic car show, costume contests and a golf cart parade.

All of downtown Abbeville gets in on the action! Downtown businesses will hand out candy and there will be a costume contest in the square. Registration and judging for the costume contest will be at 4:45-5:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at 5:45 p.m. and trick or treating is from 6-8 p.m.

There will be a costume contest at 4:30 p.m. and winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m. Both ends of Main Street will be closed off to ensure safe trick or treating, which will take place from 6-8 p.m. Local businesses will hand out candy.
