During Sugar Cane Festival weekend, several members of the Home-schoolers On The Teche 4-H Club participated in the Sugar Cookery contest. Submitting a variety of desserts, club members made an outstanding showing. Malia Schexnayder reserved a reserve champion award in the overall baking category.

Other winners included:

Brownies — Evan Norman, blue ribbon, Malia Schexnayder, 2nd place, Katie Magar, white ribbon.

Any Other Candy — Elaina Moore, blue ribbon.

Fudge — Brittney Watson, fourth; John Steiner, blue ribbon. Cakes and Cupcakes — Ashleigh Delahoussaye, Katie Magar, blue ribbons; Nickkia Mason, white ribbon.

Sugar cookie — Victoria Watson, red ribbon; Clare Phillips, fifth place.

Oatmeal Cookie — Elizabeth Watson, blue ribbon.

Any other cookie — Evan Norman, Brittney Watson,Victoria Watson, red ribbons; Elizabeth Watson, John Steiner, Kaille Magar, blue ribbons.
