JEANERETTE — A Home Going Celebration will be held for Jerry Wayne Wiles, 67, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at First Jerusalem Baptist Church, Jeanerette with Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander, officiating. He will await the resurrection at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Jeanerette.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday at the church 10 a.m. until the time of service.
A native and resident Jeanerette, he passed on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center. He was a member of First Jerusalem Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and a 1965 graduate of Francis M. Boley High School. He served as a veteran in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.
He leaves to cherish his memory and in God’s care his loving wife, Lou Ella B. Wiles; three daughters Tiara Wiles, Regina Wiles and Apollonia Wiles all of Jeanerette; seven brothers Frank Wiles Jr., Larry Wiles (Sylvia), Harry Wiles (Margaret) of Jeanerette, Barry Wiles of West Virginia, Aaron Wiles Sr. (Celestine), of Jeanerette, John Wiles (Debra) of New Iberia and Kenneth Wiles of Jeanerette; four sisters Georgia Marie Gardner (James) of New Jersey, Katherine Henry of San Diego, California, Mona Larei of Tallahassee, Florida and Lola Wiles of Jeanerette; three grandchildren Rashid Hamilton, Ciara Nora and Brian Robertson Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He now joins in glory with his parents, Frank Wiles Sr. and Florence Marie Campbell Wiles; brother Donald Ray Moss; sister Thelma Wiles and mother-in-law Ida Mae Boutte.
Active pallbearers will be Aquallo Wiles, Alfred Wiles, Trone Boutte, Frank Wiles III, Brian Jackson and Jason Wiles.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Wiles Jr., Larry Wiles, Harry Wiles, Barry Wiles, Aaron Wiles Sr., John Wiles, Kenneth Wiles, Rashid Hamilton, Lloyd Boutte, Howard Boutte Sr. and Deacons of First Jerusalem Baptist Church.
