A Home-Going Celebration will be held for Sandra Ann Lee, 58, at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Fletcher Funeral Home, New Iberia, with the Rev. Dwayne Hypolite officiating.

She will await the resurrection at Saint Matthew Cemetery, New Iberia.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until time of services.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Houston, she passed Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at North Cypress Medical Center in Houston.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Thorn Lee, of Houston; three sons Rodney Roy and Jeremey Jean Batiste of Houston and Ajamu D. Lee of Dallas; three daughters Jermell Jean Batiste, Javonne Jean Batiste and Ravin Jean Batiste, all of Houston; one brother Calvin Roy of New Iberia; one uncle Gerald (Velma) Roy of Lafayette; sisters-in-law Lizzie (Isaiah) Young of Oakland, California, and Polly (Wilbert “BB”) Mitchell of New Iberia; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorenza Roy; father, Larry Gonsoulin; and maternal grandmother, Hilda Roy.

The family would like to send special thanks to Emily Batiste, Leroy Jackson, Gloria Thibodeaux, Cheryl Broussard, Anointed Hands of Houston and Fletcher Funeral Home staff.

Active pallbearers will be Wayne Hypolite, Anthony Hypolite, Gregory Hypolite, Akimo Hypolite, Nathaniel Joseph, Dwayne Johnson, Eddie Sims and Jonte’ Hypolite.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Wyatt, Robert Thibodeaux Sr., Wilbert “BB” Mitchell, Isaiah Young, Christopher Batiste, Michael Sonn Sr., D’Juan Hypolite, Greater Houston Church, Eric Revis, Ulema Anderson, Tyrone Morgan, Kelvin Heard and Louis Sonn Jr.
