As you walk in the door the delightful aromas of herbs andbrbath soaps fill the room. These smells bring back memories of childhood for Patty Lancon, the owner of Bayou Bath Company. Lancon opened the new business on January 31brat 1407 Main Street in Jeanerette. For Lancon, opening the shop was a way ofbrdoing something she loved and giving back to the community.

“I see a lot of positive in Jeanerette and I want to help itbrhappen,” Lancon said. By opening the new business, she is able to offer artistsbrand crafters an opportunity to place items for sale in the store while offeringbrnew shopping opportunities for the city.

Her love of soap developed when shebrwas a child and slowly she has turned that art into a business.
