Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Sylvia Conrad, 84, who passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, in Baton Rouge.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia.

The Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate.

Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia.

Mrs. Conrad was born on December 5, 1930, to Dewey and Cleophine Couvillon Gauthier, and was a longtime area resident. A 1950 graduate of Mount Carmel, she was also a 1952 LPN graduate of the Charity Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Conrad was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Fortnightly V, LaPetite Garden Flower Club, Iberia Little Theatre and Shadows-on-the-Teche Service League. She enjoyed life to its fullest, including her outings with the widows ladies group, gardening, playing cards and signing.

Survivors include her children Martin Conrad of New Iberia, Randolph B. Conrad of Houston, Alicia Stewart and husband, Andrew, of Aberdeen, Scotland, and Margaret Holton and husband, Ed, of Maurepas; brother Carrol Gauthier of Texas; grandchildren Christopher Conrad, Stephen Conrad and wife, Arielle, Michael Conrad, Alan James Stewart and wife, Rachel, Margaret Stewart and Sarah Conrad; great-granddaughter Isobel Rose Stewart; two step-granddaughters Karie Holton and Melanie Holton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn R. Conrad; brothers Cecil Gauthier, Dewey Gauthier and Albert Gauthier.
