In South Louisiana, “style” means more than keeping up with trends. Those who exhibit true style carry themselves with grace and exhibit unyielding support and love for their family, friends and community. The fashion senses in Acadiana run the gamut from comfortable to classy and demur to dapper, but always encompass that unwavering Cajun flair. The 2015 Stars of Style have been nominated as ambassadors to showcase Acadiana’s true style and grace.

The premier fashion event, 2015 Stars of Style Best Dressed Gala, will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 6:30 p.m. at the Cade Community Center, 1688 Smede Highway, St. Martinville. This year’s locale is sponsored by ROBIN FORD of Jeanerette. The 2015 Stars of Style consist of 20 community leaders from as far as New Orleans. The honorees were nominated and an independent committee in conjunction with the Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival & Fair Association selected the models for the event.

During the Gala, the 20 honorees will take over the runway displaying their personal styles and unique personalities, which are occasionally outrageous, but always entertaining. Family, friends and guests will enjoy the show as they dine on gourmet food prepared by Clementine – Peltier’s Catering. There will be a live auction featuring exclusive “unattainable” items and a door prize donated by Allain’s Jewelry. Tables of eight are available for $1,200.00, which includes cocktail segment and wine. There are a limited number of tables available, so be sure to reserve one before July 15 by contacting Geri Frederick at (337) 367-7594.

Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival & Fair Association President Ronnie Gonsoulin and Stars of Style Chairperson Geri Frederick invite you to show your support for a community that is unlike any other in the nation – the sugar cane farmers of South Louisiana. The Best Dressed Gala provides the required insurance, decorations and children’s themed float, so that every school in Iberia Parish can participate in the Children’s Parade on Saturday, Sept. 26, during the annual Sugar Cane Festival. The proceeds are additionally earmarked to ensure every school band in Iberia Parish may participate in the parade.
