The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at Highland Baptist Church from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at Creel Memorial Gardens Chapel from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Richard loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart and wanted everyone he met to know that Jesus was their personal Savior. He enjoyed going to church and traveling on different mission trips around the world. Richard was a member of the Gideon International organization where he would travel around the area handing out Bibles on Saturdays and preaching the word of Christ. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed being on his tractor, working in the garden and camping out in the woods on family property. Mr. Richard believed that the natural elements of the outdoors were the “true” beauty of what the Lord gave to people on Earth and never liked the muscadine vines being cut. He cherished moments spent with family and friends, and liked taking pictures to preserve the memories with the ones he loved. His favorite time with family was when good food was at the family function, and he was always the first one in line.

Pastor David Denton will officiate at the funeral service at Highland Baptist. Pastor Glenn Ducharme will officiate at the funeral service at Creel Memorial Garden Chapel.

Interment will follow at Creel Memorial Gardens in Reeves, Louisiana.
