Ditch, Richard receive $183,000 so far for campaign

Iberia Parish president candidates have received more than $183,000 in direct donations, in-kind services donations or loans for their campaigns for the Oct. 24 election.

David Ditch, a sitting Iberia Parish Council member, brought in a significantly large number of high individual and business donations to help push his total north of six figures. Larry Richard, a former Parish Council member, by comparison had double the expenditure total and was close to spending all he had raised.

Ditch raised a total of $106,834, of which he has spent $34,674 as of the Sept. 24 campaign finance filing with the state Board of Ethics.

Ditch’s direct monetary donations most notably include $2,500 each from Paul J. Allain Architect: A Professional Architectural Corporation (New Iberia) and Southern Constructors LLC (New Iberia); $2,000 each from Brown and Brown of Louisiana LLC (Lafayette), Dauterive Contractors Inc. (New Iberia), Thomas Granger (Broussard), Gregory Inzerella (New Iberia), Jed Inzerella (Lafayette), Antoinette McIntyre (New Iberia), Service Tool Co. LLC (New Iberia) and Todd Street (Broussard); and $1,500 each from CoSource Financial Investment and Advisory Group (Lafayette) and Norris International Services LLC (New Iberia).

Additional donations include $1,250 each from Brushmasters LLC (New Iberia) and Scott Ditch (New Iberia), $1,200 each from Mike Chauvin (New Iberia) and Dr. Maurice Faugot (New Iberia), $1,100 each from Susan Dill (Metairie), Iberia Aggregates and Construction (Lydia) and Seth Rosenzweig (New Iberia).

In-kind service donations for Ditch’s campaign include $2,444 from Private Workforce Solutions LLC (for labor for constructing signs), $2,000 from Lenny Lipari (for campaign shirts), $1,004 from The Picard Group (for event catering) and $1,000 each from Bon Creole Seafood Inc. (for food for campaign event) and Mike Richard (for a building for campaign event).

Big-ticket expenses for Ditch’s campaign include $12,936 to The Political Firm (for consulting fees). $6,388 to Cajun Printing and Graphics (for advertising signs), $2,450 to Jeff Januszek (for consulting fees), $2,000 to Cafe Des Amis (for food for fundraising event), $1,736 to Bon Creole Seafood (for food for campaign event), $1,272 to Rip Van Winkle Gardens (for alcohol for campaign event) and $1,234 to Promotional Images (for consulting expenses).

Richard raised a total of $76,990 by the Sept. 24 filing (including a $20,164 loan) and had spent most of it, $69,496.

Richard’s notable direct donations include $3,000 from Sirius Technologies (Eunice), $2,000 from Vidrine Holdings LLC (Eunice), $1,875 from Jackie Guillotte (New Iberia), $1,500 each from H.I.S. Fire and Safety Equipment LLC (Delcambre), Diane Musson (New Iberia) and R.K. Pipe and Supply LLC (New Iberia) and $1,000 each from Brewster Procurement Group (Lafayette), Hiram Durousseau (Lake Charles), Maxum Industries LLC (New Iberia) and Cecilia Robert (Opelousas).

In-kind donations for Richard’s campaign included $1,600 from Mike Romero (for campaign headquaters monthly rental) and $1,202 from Jerome Fitch Construction Inc. (for labor to build sign frames).
