ABBEVILLE — Funeral services will be conducted for Ann Zenon, 62, on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, with Fr. Louis Richard officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 29, 2015, from 8 a.m. until time of service with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m.

Ms. Zenon passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at 10:25 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.

Ann was born on July 7, 1953, and was a lifelong resident of Abbeville. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and Nanny to all her nieces and nephews. For more than 20 years, Ann cared for and lived with her mother until her passing in July 2011.

She enjoyed cooking, canning vegetables, crabbing, sewing, playing cards with her family, watching her grandsons Kyle and Jude play football and shopping with her granddaughter Haley. An occasional trip to the casino was always on her agenda. She especially enjoyed spending time talking with her son Chad after a long day’s work in the sugarcane fields.

Ann was a 1971 graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, formerly USL.

Survivors include her only son Chad J. Zenon and daughter-in-law, Penny, of Abbeville; a companion and special friend, Delbert Deville of Lake Charles; two brothers Eldridge Zenon Jr. (Jackie) of Abbeville and Joseph Billy Zenon Sr. (Herly) of Abbeville; two sisters Linda Z. Provost (Willis) of New Iberia and Cathy Z. Nelson (Benjamin) of Abbeville; three grandchildren Kyle Mikal Zenon, Haley Elizabeth Zenon and Chad Jude Zenon Jr.; three godchildren Crystal P. Sonnier, Lena M. Nelson and Cyra J. Sonnier; four nieces; five nephews; 10 great-nieces; seven great-nephews; godmother Edna Z. Boutte; godfather Horace Jeanminette; and a host of cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldridge and Gracie J. Zenon; her paternal grandparents, Golden Sr. and Edna V. Zenon; her maternal grandparents, Uramis and Clarise B. Jeanminette; a nephew Wallace J. Zenon; and a niece Joli A. Nelson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Willis Provost Jr., Eldridge Elie Zenon III, Kyle M. Zenon, Chad J. Zenon Jr., Joseph Billy Zenon Jr., Ben Nelson Jr., Troy Boutte and Gerald Sonnier.

Honorary pallbearers are Delbert Deville, Felix Jeanminette, Eldridge Zenon Jr., Joseph Billy Zenon Sr., Benjamin Nelson Sr., Willis Provost Sr., Gerald Sonnier Jr., Paul W. Provost III, Golden Zenon III, Terry Zenon, Nathan Zenon Sr., Darrell Pillette, Ricardo Vallot and Alfred Hebert.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Intensive Care nurses of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Diana Whitt and Paula Gary for the care and compassion shown to our sister Ann during her brief illness.
