Alese Jones, a senior from New Iberia, attending the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts, was selected through statewide auditions for the Louisiana Music Educators Association Louisiana All-State Orchestra. Jones plays the flute and is a member of the mixed ensemble and chamber ensemble at LSMSA.

This year’s guest conductor will be Douglas Droste, the artistic director of the Muncie Symphony Orchestra and director of orchestras at Ball State University.

All-State choirs, bands, jazz ensemble and the orchestra will perform at the Louisiana Music Educators Association fall conference to be held Nov. 19-23 in Baton Rouge.

The orchestra performance will be at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 22 in the Premier Ballroom. Admission is free. For more information call (870) 949-5135.
