The Louisiana Music Educators Association announced today that Jan Bonin and Triston Thorne from New Iberia Senior High have been selected through state-wide auditions for the Louisiana All-State Mixed Choir.

This year’s guest conductor is Dr. Roland Carter, Professor Emeritus at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The Mixed Choir performance is scheduled for 4 p.m. Nov. 21 in the Premier Ballroom.

Gracie Watts from NISH has been selected for the Louisiana All-State Women’s Chorale. This year’s guest conductor Angie Rawls from Pearl High School in Pearl, Mississippi. The Women’s Chorale is scheduled to perform at 4 p.m. Nov. 20 in the Premier Ballroom.

All-State Choirs and Bands will perform at the LMEA Fall Conference held Nov. 19-21 in Baton Rouge at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Constitution Ave. Admission is free.
