Baldwin native is NOLA queen

Allison Rose Junca, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Errol Junca of Baldwin, was crowned Queen of Okeonas LXVII in New Orleans where she will receive the key to the city from Mayor Mitch Landrieu today during the annual krewe parade.
She comes from a long line of royalty including her great-grandfather, Marion Crawford “Buster” Rose, King of Sucrose XXII of Franklin, great-aunt Linda Rose Abbott, Queen of Sucrose XXIV and aunt Monique Junca Dugas, Queen of Sucrose L of Franklin. She is the granddaughter of Hugh Junca II of Glencoe and Carolyn Rentrop of Youngsville, Mary Alice Lafleur and the late Roger Lee Lafleur of Mamou.
Junca is a 2014 graduate of Catholic High School and a sophomore at Louisiana State University majoring in dietetics. She is a member of the American Dietetics Association, National Honor Society of Academic Scholars, National Society of Leadership and Success and National Honor Society of Collegiate Scholars. Junca is an intern at LSU Sports Nutrition, volunteers at Cooking Matters and is employed with Unique Cuisine Catering Service.
