Kidd has taught school for 15 years and is the Social Studies Department Chair at Westgate High School. She is Diversity Club sponsor, staff appreciation committee chair, homecoming committee head and serves on the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support Committee.

Kidd expressed her appreciation with a quote from Thomas Jefferson, stating the sentiments by “‘Tommy Jeff,’ as my students call him, sums up why I chose to leave my 10-year career as an English teacher, five years as department chair and started my career as a civics teacher.”
